RIBLESS" Rib Fest: A Great Success With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Knight of Columbus Ribfest planning committee decided to take a new approach and move forward with our “Ribless Ribfest”. We didn’t know if our new plan would work, but we knew we needed to try something since the technology needs of our St. Charles students continue to increase, especially during the pandemic. We are pleased to share we’ve had an amazing response to our fundraising campaign. To date, we have raised $21,100 for the school's technology needs and $1,720 for Knights of Columbus Charities. When an anticipated matching gift arrives in the first quarter of 2021, the total of all donations will be $25,820.
John Bertke, Technology Coordinator for St. Charles School, shares "The new chromebooks we were able to purchase with these funds will help our school reach its ultimate goal of having one chromebook for every student. Being 1-to-1 allows our students access to many virtual lessons and experiences that would not necessarily be available to them otherwise. In these unusual times, the ability of a student to be able to reach out and attend class from home or email a teacher is vital to keeping their learning at the highest levels. Last spring and this fall it would not have been possible for our teachers to continue to provide high quality lessons and education to all of our students without the support you have provided us over the years."
The Knights of Columbus and St. Charles School would like to thank our membership and parish for the generous outpouring of support we received in support of this campaign.
